| Customer Reviews: Still playing with it 1 year later! November 23, 2006 C. Straub (N. Virginia, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
These Toobs from Safari Ltd. are fantastic! I bought this Wild Animal Toob for my son (he was 2 1/2) last Christmas, and of all of his gifts (which included lots of cool stuff from aunts & uncles), this was his favorite. He is still playing with these animals and we've added many more to the collection. For $4.99 at TJMaxx, this was definitely my best buy last Christmas!
Terric little phlate-free animal figurines September 9, 2009 C. Szeto (NYC) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Everybody has animal figurines, but many of them are very cheap so that the features of the animals are not terribly realistic. These are pretty good considering their size and price. The plastic has a sturdy feel and is phlate free.
The Wild Toob is the best one to get if you're only going to get one. It has all the land animals in it that are popular in books and such but children might not get to see in real life. Having the animals in 3D really popped them in my kid's memory so she very quickly learned their names at 22 months. We pull out relevant animals when she is watching programs that feature them. We have collected about 9 of the Toobs in total; mostly because I enjoy them so much ;)
FYI, some of the animals have their names printed on their bellies if you look really closely.
Encourage a wild imagination (without batteries) March 12, 2010 Marisa Suarez-Stearns (SE) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you don't have any of these, they are indispensable. My house is covered with little animal groups who either socialize or eat one another. They nurture an already wild imagination with no batteries required. More realistic looking than other "tubes" or tubs that I've seen at big toy stores and made better (seams match up and they're painted correctly). Great buy.
little animals for little hands January 16, 2007 Jen Schellings (the zoo) we love these animals. we are now beginning a collection of these for our 21 month old son. used under supervision because they are small, but i don't think small enough that they could be dangerous for him. we use them to act out different animal books, like "good night gorilla" his favorite & "polar bear polar bear what do you hear". we store them all in a basket for ease of use instead of the toobs they come in. we have found a local store that sells them a little cheaper & we also don't have to pay for shipping. we play games in which i ask him to get certain animals to line up or ask him to find the animal that makes a certain sound. while reading an animal book, he'll pick out the animal that matches the picture. these are great for fun & learning & easy enough to pack back into the toobs for travel fun. i'm hoping that when he's older these can be his figures to substitue for that bag of little green men.
